Outdoors

Outdoors is a bit of a misnomer. Really, “outdoors” just means anything I do outside my domicile. Mostly this is running. Sometimes it’s skiing and sport shooting, but I’ll never sleep outside. I like these sports because they have measurable competitive markers. “Am I faster than the others around me,” “Can I crush this extreme terrain,” “Can I hit my groups at 500 yards,” have both competitive and practical indicators. This is especially true for athletics and marksmanship, which are crucial in dire situations.

I expect that the majority of the content on this page will be related to running. In the winter months you might find a debrief of my last ski vacation. Marksmanship posts will focus just as much on science and ballistics as actually putting holes in paper.
